Lead Software Engineer

Framewell is building a product that is consumer-facing, patient-first, and uses AI to help all insured Americans navigate and manage their healthcare with more confidence than someone who can afford expert-level help. We have built a prototype, but are now looking to build that into our launch-ready, fully-functional product by Fall 2026. We are actively seeking a Lead Software Engineer to lead the charge for the technical build.

Responsibilities Include:

Set the technical architecture and stack. Build the LLM pipeline (prompt engineering, RAG for healthcare knowledge base, API integrations). Establish data security and basic HIPAA-adjacent infrastructure. Hire and manage engineers 2 and 3. Ship the MVP. Owns the evaluator infrastructure, prompt engineering discipline, and dual-engine gating logic. Serve as designated Security Officer. Execute BAAs with hosting and LLM vendors. Implement and manage compliance automation platforms. Own the security and privacy roadmap including SOC 2 Type I prep.

Post-Launch:

Own technical roadmap and system reliability. Scale infrastructure. Lead all engineering hiring. Drive product iteration based on user data. Manage a growing engineering team. Potential CTO offer within 1-year.
